It’s very hard for anyone who visits Rio to resist the appeal of its 80km of beaches. Copacabana, with its exquisite Av. Atlântica sidewalk made of black and white mosaics, forming the famous waves, is primarily responsible for such fascination.
There are actually two beaches: Leme and Copacabana, that together form an extension of 4.15km. Visited night and day, the beach has kiosks, a biking trail, bicycle parking, lifeguard stations with showers and bathrooms, hotels, bar and restaurants.
The beaches also have two Military Forts, one on each extremity, with panoramic views and open to the public.
